YACHT DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION

At Yacht Sourcing, we work with Indonesia’s few remaining Phinisi craftsmen to create custom sailing vessels ranging in length from 18 to 60 metres. From design to delivery, we provide a comprehensive service that encompasses conceptualization, budgeting, time scheduling, project management, shipyard co-ordination and warranties.

NEW BUILD YACHT PROJECTS

Our shipyard in Bira, Sulawesi, as well as our team in Serangan, Bali has never stopped building and refitting traditionally designed wooden yachts, with high-end fitting and furnishings for luxury charters. Last year’s launches included the 27m Maggia and the 47m phinisi Maj Oceanic, which is being fitted out for delivery to The Maj Group. Ongoing builds include the 50m Vela, that was launched on water earlier this week. Our teams are as well working on a unique 30m and two outstanding 45m projects, and we looking forward to sharing more details with you.

CUSTOM YACHT REFITS

Yacht Sourcing provides a comprehensive range of Phinisi refurbishment services, spanning interior refreshes and repaints to timber, electrical and mechanical work. Our dedicated team of designers, painters, joiners and engineers will project manage the entire refit, from practical considerations and conceptualization to delivery of the newly restored yacht.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF PHINISI

Phinisi boat originated from South Sulawesi in the 19th century, first made by the Konjo tribe who resides at the Bulukumba regency. The sailor from the tribe has the idea to combine their traditional rig with Western schooner rig and called it the phinisi rig.
